Whole Foods Cold Brew Coffee Sweetened Vanilla Review

Whole Foods Cold Brew Coffee Sweetened Vanilla Review

Whole foods, what more do you need to say, the original organic supermarket. As far as their cold brew I am not really sure when they started to brew their own. I became more aware of the cold brew offerings after I had bought the Vietnamese Cold brew Coffee from Whole Foods. I had tried the Original Cold Brew as well. Today I will be trying the Sweetened Vanilla Flavor.

You get a vanilla sweet smell when you first open the bottle. When you first sip the cold brew you get this slightly sweet taste with a subtle hint of vanilla. You can almost taste some of the sourness come through but the sweetness from the vanilla and sugar mask it. Even if they weren’t there to hide the acidity, you can tell that it isn’t all that sour in the first place. Then as it goes into the middle of the mouth you get more of the sweet syrupy taste. The finale is a small hit of bitterness then the subtle coffee taste mixed with the vanilla. The body is robust but the vanilla here really overshadows the subtle coffee flavor. The vanilla is really what lingers in your mouth with just a slight hint of the coffee. Again this Whole Foods cold brew packs a punch in the caffeine department. The price is $4.00 for a 16 oz bottle which is $0.25 per ounce.

First off I would like to say that it is hard to be subjective about this particular flavor because I just flat out don’t like vanilla in my coffee, well vanilla in general. That being said I didn’t want to throw up drinking this like I did with the Chameleon Vanilla one. It has a nice taste but I think that the coffee taste is overpowered by the vanilla. Great smooth coffee regardless of the vanilla. Just wished there was more coffee flavor.
